City Commission Workshop Meeting
Monday, June 8, 2020 at 5:30 pm
This Commission Meeting was conducted utilizing Communications Media Technology in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order. Some Elected Officials and Staff members were present in the Commission Chambers while others were present via the Zoom application to respect the social distancing guidelines.

Mayor Bryant called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.
1. SARASOTA/MANATEE 2045 LONG RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN DISCUSSION
Leigh Holt, Sarasota Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) made a presentation to the Commission and staff; this presentation is attached to the Agenda.
Discussion about the transportation through Sarasota and Manatee not just Palmetto limits. 400 projects from cities and the two counties.
Commissioner Davis expressed interest in the realignment of the striping along 10th Street West by 5th Avenue and the railroad tracks.
Commissioner Cornwell would like to know the results from the survey that MPO prepared.
Mr. Rayan will submit consideration of the U.S. 41 and 23rd Street intersection to MPO for consideration the Long Range Plan.
The extension of 7th Street by the Convention Center was discussed.
Ms. Holt discussed a bus shoulder on the DeSoto Bridge to allow for emergency vehicles or busses to move past cars on the bridge.
